Personal and Professional Competencies describes the values, attitudes and behaviours individuals bring to their jobs. These describe the professional's overall working style and comprise 5 competency clusters containing a total of 16 Personal and Professional Competencies.

Personal and Professional Competencies apply to all managers and grades of teacher. Of course, professionals do not need all of them all of time; the most effective use more of them, more often and at a higher level.

The report highlights strengths and development areas and offers mentoring points allowing people to take practical steps to change their performance. 16 characteristics are measured, divided into 5 competency clusters:
